Job Description Job Description The Controller oversees financial operations and reporting for Newport-managed hotels. This role ensures financial clarity, asset protection, and strategic alignment by partnering with property teams, corporate leadership, and ownership groups. Special team member hotel rates for travel. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership: Oversee GL, AP/AR, payroll, and cash management; advise leadership on risks and performance trends. Portfolio Oversight: Lead monthly financial closes for all managed hotels in compliance with USALI and GAAP . Property Support: Partner with General Managers to strengthen financial discipline and support new hotel transitions. Controls & Compliance: Implement internal controls to safeguard assets, manage cash flow, and coordinate annual audits/tax filings. Team Development: Mentor accounting staff and train property leaders on financial literacy and P&L management. Qualifications & Competencies Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred . Experience: 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience (Hospitality or multi-unit preferred). Technical Skills: Proficiency in USALI, GAAP, and hospitality systems (M3, ADP, PMS/POS).
