Job Description First Team Automotive Group A leading multipoint Automotive Group in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a highly qualified Office Manager/Assistant Controller to manage its consolidated accounting department. Join a Leader in the Automobile Industry and an Award-Winning Company Job Description The Office Manager/Assistant Controller reports directly to the VP of Accounting and assists the accounting department and store management with the financial affairs of the dealerships, provides financial analysis and assists in strategic planning. Responsible for accurately representing and keeping records on the financial condition of the dealerships and for assisting with planning, organizing and directing the accounting functions of the consolidated accounting office. Job Duties Overseeing the financial and accounting system and personnel. Responsible for all accounting functions and procedures of the dealerships with coordination from VP of Accounting and CFO. Prepare and review monthly financial statements and submit them to the manufacturer and management. Review the general ledgers and schedules, and work with the accounting and operations staff to resolve discrepancies and developing action plans. Interface with Owner and store management directly on all financial aspect of the dealerships. Establish departmental goals consistent with company goals on improving processes, efficiency and strengthening controls. Supervision, training, and management the office and clerical staff. Hiring and termination of office, and clerical personnel. Prepare all necessary information for external accountants and internal auditor. Special projects and analysis as requested by the CFO, Owner or dealership management. To perform this job successfully, the incumbents will possess the skills, aptitudes, and abilities to perform each duty proficiently. Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, Knowledge Minimum 5 years of experience as Controller in Automotive Industry is required. Strong knowledge and understanding of dealership accounting is required. Associates Degree in Accounting, public accounting experience and/or CPA certification are preferred. Experience managing a large office staff, and consolidated accounting department experience is a plus. Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate with management team on financial analysis and expense control. Strong analytical, communication and people management skills. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Highly organized with attention to detail and self-motivated. First Team Automotive Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
