controls, commissioning, and construction technology. Procon is
seeking a Construction Quality Assurance Inspector for a long-term
opportunity in the Virginia Beach, VA area. This role involves
performing field inspections to verify compliance with approved
plans, specifications, and codes; monitoring construction progress;
and documenting conditions through reports and photographs. The
position also supports preconstruction and procurement activities,
including design reviews, development of scopes of work (SOWs), and
technical documentation. Participation in project coordination
meetings and preparation of routine status reports is required.
Requirements Qualifications & Skills Minimum of a high school
diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in an Architecture,
Engineering, or Construction (AEC)-related field preferred. Minimum
of seven (7) years of experience performing construction
inspections or monitoring for both renovation and new construction
projects. OSHA 30-hour certification required; Quality Control
Manager (QCM) certification preferred. Demonstrated experience in
quality assurance for retail and hospitality facilities preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of construction codes, materials, methods,
and inspection practices. Proven experience developing and writing
scopes of work. Strong written and verbal communication skills with
the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, engineers,
and project managers. Proficiency with construction management
software such as e-Builder, Procore, or similar platforms. Strong
analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Ability and
willingness to travel to local job sites as required.
Responsibilities & Duties Conduct comprehensive field inspections
across all trades to verify compliance with contract documents,
drawings, specifications, building codes, and safety requirements.
Monitor and document construction activities, including labor
standards, quality control, and adherence to project schedules.
Evaluate workmanship, materials, and construction methods;
recommend acceptance or rejection of work based on compliance with
project requirements. Establish and maintain inspection procedures,
schedules, and reporting methods to ensure consistent and accurate
documentation of progress and quality. Prepare clear, timely daily
inspection reports and photo documentation using construction
management software. Track project milestones, phasing, and
critical path activities; promptly identify and report risks or
issues impacting schedule, cost, or quality. Ensure contractor
compliance with federal and state labor and safety regulations,
including Davis-Bacon and OSHA standards. Coordinate third-party
testing and inspection services and verify timely correction of
deficiencies. Immediately report unsafe or life-threatening
conditions and assist with corrective actions as required. Support
project management staff with weekly progress summaries, reporting,
and close-out documentation. Support the Department of Record (DOR)
during constructability reviews and field discussions. Provide
recommendations and solutions to construction challenges
encountered in the field. Develop project scopes of work (SOWs) and
support the procurement process. Provide technical representation
and support to the Contracting Officer and coordinate with the
Contracting Officer’s Representative as required. Assist with the
development of technical narratives and cost documentation for
change orders. Participate in quality, safety, and performance
meetings and support reviews of RFPs and design documents prior to
