basic knowledge of proper use of hand and power tools to assemble
parts according to instruction.Position Summary:Has knowledge of
layout work from blueprints, schematics or drawings to place parts
in specified relationship to each other. Bolts, clips, screws or
otherwise fastens parts together using common hand tools or
specialized tools and equipment to accomplish a finished product.
Has knowledge of use of common tools, tapes, squares and levels
both standard and metric. Works independently or in small groups
for assembly of systems. Assists loading and un-loading equipment.
Has some knowledge of overhead cranes. Maintains tools and
equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order. Disassembles
equipment for re-build. Assists in lifting, positioning, and
fastening objects such as sub-frames, cylinders, pumps and motors.
Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Performs other
routine duties. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no
supervisory responsibilities.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES(The
knowledge, skills and attributes required for satisfactory job
performance) Education: One year certificate from college or
technical school; or two years related experience and/or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge:
Incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following
areas:BlueprintsProper use of hand and power tools.Mechanical
AssemblySkills: Incumbent must demonstrate or participate in
internal/external training programs to obtain the following
skills:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to
read, and interpret, electrical schematic drawings, and engineering
blueprints.Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to
multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.Ability to read and
interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to perform these
operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and
distance.Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete
variables in standardized situations.May be required to operate
material handling equipment.Ability to write routine reports and
correspondence.Capable of working in a team environment. Applicable
Technical Competencies: Incumbent must have working knowledge and
demonstrated abilities utilizing mechanical knowledge: Specific
applications combined with knowledge competencies are as follows:
