We are currently seeking skilled Outside Marine Machinists for a potential 5-year project in Norfolk, VA. This opportunity involves hands-on labor working at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for experienced professionals. Note : This position is contingent upon contract award. Employment will begin only if and when the company secures the government contract associated with this role. Overview : Maintain, repair, and install shipboard mechanical systems and equipment. Responsibilities : Disassemble, repair, and align pumps, motors, and valves. Install and test propulsion and auxiliary machinery. Operate precision tools for measurements and alignments. Follow shipyard safety and technical work documents. Qualifications : Active DoD Secret clearance required. 4 years as a machinist, with at least 2 years on Navy ships. Completion of a formal trade training program (trade school, military training, apprenticeship, or equivalent) required. Ability to read technical manuals and use precision tools.
