Job Description:
ODU Human Resources Director, Programming and Operations
(FP308A) ODU is seeking candidates for a Director, Programming and
Operations (full-time, 12 month) position. This position will
provide comprehensive services and assessment of services within
the School of Continuing Education, with a specific focus on the
Credentialing Center and Office of Prior Learning Assessment. This
position collaborates and provides relevant programming support to
facilitate student success and enrollment. These efforts include,
but are not limited to revenue generation, enrollment management,
advising/counseling, and career management. Specifically, this
position: -Directs the operations, planning and development of
continuing education programs. Oversees course budgets, proposes
policies, develops new programs and markets existing programs.
Reaches targeted audiences for non-credit programming and has
responsibility for revenue goals, so the unit is self-sustaining.
Partners with college stakeholders, third party vendors, area
school districts, community groups and local businesses to provide
programming that meets the needs of a diverse community. -Manages
the resources and supervision of Credentialing Center staff.
Directs the administration of national tests through third party
vendors such as Pearson, Kryterion, College Board, and similar.
Arranges new and maintains existing contractual agreements with
national testing companies. Develops and implements testing
policies and procedures to the University community. Collaborates
with testing companies to develop effective testing assessment
methods. Supervises the preparation of computerized scoring and
Banner system for placement tests. Delegates special projects as
needed. Develops and maintains strategic plan for future use of the
Credentialing Center. -Assists with the intake of student
inquiries, advises students, and provides the initial academic
assessments necessary to facilitate entry into the Prior Learning
Assessment program. Plans and directs on- and off-campus engagement
programs and events, including college fairs, job fairs, graduate
school fairs, etc.; develops other strategies to improve recruiting
and increase the number of students participating in the program.
Maintains and reports data regarding potential student markets,
contacts, applications, and acceptances. -Forecasts budget needs
for long-range strategic planning. Monitors revenue generating
programs and provides revenue and expense information to School
staff. Reviews financial transactions and verifies deposits.
-Supervises the Coordinator of the Credentialing Center and
provides leadership for the Credentialing Center team. Required
Education: A master s degree in business management, finance,
marketing, workforce development, higher education administration,
counseling, psychology, or a related field of study is required. Or
a bachelor s degree, in the previously mentioned fields of study,
with equivalent related work experience to a master s degree may be
substituted. Required Qualifications: --- Working knowledge of
operations and technical aspects related to testing programs and
equipment --- Demonstrated ability to manage a complex
student-focused operation --- Demonstrated ability to perform with
considerable independence in decision-making --- Considerable
experience working non-traditional students --- Considerable
experience working in a higher education environment, or edtech
environment --- Considerable experience working in a
self-sustaining, revenue generating unit --- Considerable
experience using Microsoft Office products and Banner (or
