Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Laboratory Technician to work full time evenings (1430-2300) in the Clinical Lab.

Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Laboratory Technician perform laboratory tests; interprets test results; documents and reports test results; maintains equipment, instruments, and tools.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor s degree Medical Laboratory Science or in chemical, physical or bio logical science OR Associates degree in medical technology

- ASCP, AMT , or AAB certification OR be eligible for certification

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is a 276-bed acute care facility offering specialized, tertiary services. Job Summary

Performs laboratory tests; interprets results; documents and reports results. Maintains department equipment, instruments, and tools.

Bachelor s degree in chemical, physical or biological science or Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution. ASCP or AMT certification required. Certification eligible applicants with American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT) may be considered with proof of eligibility prior to date of employment. Certification for eligible employees shall be acquired within one year from date of hire. Certification must remain current for continued employment.
