Must be willing to float. Cannot accommodate block schedulingBLS ACLS required via American Heart Association NIHSS requiredSkills required: vents, IV start, Telemetry, PA Lines, Conscious Sedation, Neuro IV titration, Insulin IV experience, strong Neuro experience requiredPatient types in SDU: This is a general SDU with a variety of patient populations. We primarily see: pulmonary - acute respiratory failure secondary to pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, and/or CHF exacerbation; cardiac - NSTEMI/STEMI not requiring ICU level of care and/or downgrade from ICU, +/- cardiac cath, CHF/CMO requiring BIPAP/diuresis, AFIB with RVR requiring Cardizem/Amio gtt, or complete heart block awaiting AICD/Pacemaker; sepsis not requiring pressors; minor trauma - hip/femur/ankle fracture s/p fall; CIWA; DKA requiring insulin gtt; some surgical patients - surgeries typically go to MedSurg or ICU however we do see the occasional vascular surgery (arterial bypass or compartment syndrome requiring neurovascular checks) and/or post-op complications from MedSurg.Typical Ratios are 1:4, sometimes 1:5Must be EPIC proficient - NO EXCEPTIONS1 years experience required, travel experience preferredLocal Rules: No RN candidates will be accepted if they reside less than 50 miles from facility.
