Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Experience in neuro required; 3 years of critical care experience preferred but will consider strong candidates without it; travel experience preferred License: License in hand preferred; Temporary license process needs to be started before applying Certifications: BLS, ACLS required via American Heart Association; NIHSS required Must-Have: Strong neuro experience, including post brain surgery and EVD/ventriculostomy; Experience with vents, IV start, Telemetry, PA (Swan-Ganz) Lines, Conscious Sedation; Willingness to float to ED or Med Surg for ICU patients; EPIC proficiency Description: ICU Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week assignment with a possibility for extension. Candidates must have strong neuro experience. The role requires night shifts on a 4x12-hour schedule, with weekend and holiday rotations within the contract. Candidates must be willing to float to the Emergency Department or Medical-Surgical Units to care for ICU patients. BLS and ACLS certifications are required through the American Heart Association. NIH Stroke Scale certification is also required. Skills required include vents, IV starts, telemetry, PA (Swan-Ganz) lines, and conscious sedation. Experience with post brain surgery care and EVD/ventriculostomy is required. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2-3. While three years of critical care experience are preferred, strong candidates without this experience may be considered. Travel experience is also preferred. Candidates must be proficient with the EPIC electronic health records system. All applicants must reside more than 50 miles from the facility and provide license verification. Passing an EKG test is required, with no remediation available. A score of 80% or higher is necessary to pass. There is a requirement for 3 hours of modules to be completed before the start of the orientation, which consists of 16 non-billable hours. Candidates need to comply with flu vaccine requirements, though medical or religious exemptions can be considered.
