JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Hematology Oncology Physician • Specialty/Dept.: Hematology Oncology • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Nags Head, NC • Service Setting: Outpatient Only • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: September 2, 2025 September 4, 2025 • Clinical Shift Schedule: 7:30 AM 5:00 PM daily PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Patient Volume/Census: - MD: 12-14 patients/day - APP: 8-10 patients/day • Case Mix: General Hematology and Oncology Cases FACILITY INFORMATION • Trauma Level: N/A (Critical Access Hospital with 21 beds) • EMR System: Epic/Beacon • Specialty Backup Available: Anesthesiologists, Onsite Radiologists • Support Staff Available: Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) • Reason for Coverage: Temporary Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes • Credentialing Timeline: TBD COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care in an outpatient setting • Collaborate with APPs and support staff to ensure continuity of care JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active North Carolina License • Certifications: Board Certification, DEA • Experience: - Clinical experience in hematology and oncology - Familiarity with Epic/Beacon EMR systems preferred DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Deliver high-quality hematology and oncology care to adult patients in an outpatient setting • Collaborate with APPs and other healthcare providers • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic/Beacon EMR • Ensure seamless coordination with Vidant Air and Vidant Ground Support for patient transfers as needed • Participate in orientation on-site the day prior to the shift start FACILITY DETAILS • Outer Banks Hospital is a 21-bed critical access hospital with 3 operating rooms and 1 C-section room • 24-hour laboratory availability • Vidant Air and Ground support for immediate patient transfers
