ICU/Critical Care RN in Chesapeake, Virginia, 23320! Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardio Thoracic ICU
Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension Shift: Night Hours per
Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years in
CVICU/CTICU; travel experience preferred License: Valid nursing
license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: -
Arterial line management - Blood product administration - Central
line care/management - PICC line management - Starting IVs -
Continuous IV sedation - Procedural sedation administration -
Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips - Strong neuro experience
(post brain surgery, EVD/ventriculostomy) - FloTrac/Vigileo
monitoring - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias -
Experience with multi-system organ failure - Post-cardiac surgery
care, including CABG - Intra-aortic balloon pump and Impella
management - Pulmonary artery line monitoring - Care of ventilated
patients and advanced airway management - Infection prevention and
isolation precautions - Care of surgical wounds with drains/wound
vac Description: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse
specializing in Cardio Thoracic ICU. This position involves caring
for post-operative CABG adult patients, and cases of acute coronary
syndromes, NSTEMI, STEMI, and CHF. The unit operates with a
universal bed model, allowing ICU patients downgraded to step-down
to remain in the same unit until discharge. The daily
patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:1 on days and can be 2:1 on nights
and weekends. Candidates will be expected to float, work weekends,
and cover holidays within the contract. Candidates must possess
strong critical thinking skills and the ability to manage a complex
patient population effectively. Proficiency in electronic medical
records systems is required. Experience with specific equipment and
procedures is highly valued. This position emphasizes teamwork and
