ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Chesapeake, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/30/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - ICU Job Details: • Work 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (overtime billed after 48 hours on 4x12 schedule) • Night shifts, weekdays, every other weekend rotation required • Holiday coverage within contract required • Must have strong neuro experience (post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke) • 48-hour contract with overtime after 48 hours available • Patient ratios of 1:2-3 • Must be willing to float to Stepdown Unit and may be floated to ED/MedSurg to care for ICU patients • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS • Must be EPIC proficient - no exceptions • VA or Compact license required in hand at time of submittal • 3 years critical care experience preferred (will consider strong candidates with less experience) • Travel experience preferred • Must pass EKG testing with 80% or higher (one attempt only, no remediation) • 3 hours of pre-start modules required (billable) • Skills required: ventilators, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, dysrhythmia and emergency management • Care for patient populations including neurosurgical/post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis and MODS, heart failure and post-cardiac cath • Must reside more than 50 miles from facility • No license or background hits will be considered Facility: This medical center offers comprehensive critical care services with a focus on neurosurgical and trauma patients.
