nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum
of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required.
Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for
extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment.
$750 referral bonus available. /n/n Opportunity: /n RN - Stepdown
/n/n Job Details: /n • Work 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week
/n• Schedule includes weekdays, every other weekend, holidays, and
floating assignments /n• Must be willing to float to Med/Surg,
Telemetry, ER Holding, and other units as needed /n• Patient ratios
typically 1:4, sometimes 1:5 on stepdown unit /n• When floating to
Med/Surg, ratios can be 1:6 to 1:7 /n• No block scheduling can be
accommodated /n• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (American
Heart Association), NIHSS /n• Must be EPIC proficient with no
exceptions /n• 2 years of nursing experience required, 3 years
preferred /n• Travel experience preferred /n• Must pass EKG testing
with 80% or higher score (one attempt only) /n• Complete 3 hours of
billable pre-start modules /n• 24 hours of orientation required /n•
Must have Virginia or compact state license in hand at time of
submission /n• Cannot reside within 50 miles of facility /n• No
license or background hits will be accepted /n• Skills required:
ventilator management, IV starts, telemetry, PA lines, conscious
sedation, neuro IV titration, insulin IV experience, strong neuro
experience /n• Care for variety of patient populations including
pulmonary, cardiac, sepsis, minor trauma, CIWA, DKA, and some
surgical patients /n• Daily census of 24-26 patients in 28-bed unit
serving adult and geriatric populations /n/n Facility: /n This
medical center operates a general stepdown unit that provides
intermediate-level care for patients transitioning between
intensive care and medical/surgical units. The facility features
comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams,
physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services,
phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit
secretary services. The stepdown unit manages a diverse patient
population with conditions ranging from respiratory failure and
cardiac events to trauma and post-surgical complications,
maintaining high standards for patient care and safety. /n/n
