Insulin IV administration Description: This position is for a
Registered Nurse specializing in Step Down care. The nurse will be
working in a dynamic environment that caters to a variety of
patient populations. The patient types include pulmonary acute
respiratory failure secondary to pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, CHF
exacerbation, and cardiac conditions such as NSTEMI/STEMI. Nurses
will care for patients requiring BIPAP, diuresis, and management of
AFIB with RVR. The role also includes managing patients with sepsis
not requiring pressors, minor trauma, CIWA, and DKA requiring
insulin. Some surgical patients may also be included in the
caseload. Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4, with increments
to 1:5 on occasion. Travelers are expected to float between units
and maintain appropriate ratios. The facility prioritizes
interdisciplinary support, including IV teams, physical therapy,
and rapid response teams. Nurses will be responsible for telemetry
monitoring, management of dysrhythmias, and adherence to isolation
precautions. Candidates must comply with all local rules and
regulations. The facility requires all submitted candidates to have
no prior license or background hits. Proficiency in EKG
