Southeastern Virginia Training Center is Lead Direct Support

happiness. About the Role This position is considered essential
personnel and would be required to work in the event of an
emergency or facility need. All SEVTC positions are required to
work different shifts and/or overtime as requested. Work within a
person-centered educational model to provide support,
educational/training, and supervision of individuals with
intellectual and developmental disabilities Managing staff
assignments and ensuring all shift tasks are completed efficiently.
Run training programs; administer medications; collect and record
pertinent data and complete required documentation Contribute to
and maintain an environment that is supportive of individual
choices, enriching, homelike, safe and nurturing for people with
disabilities Support and instruct individuals in a range of daily
living skills including self-help, personal hygiene, independent
living, and social development Monitor leisure time, recreational,
social and activities of choice May be supporting individuals
receiving emergency stabilization services Drive facility vans to
transport individuals Responding to crises with effective
management techniques, ensuring safety for all. Completing special
assignments as directed by supervisors. Shift Hours: 2 nd shift:
2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Shift Differential is available for this
shift: 2 nd shift weekday $2.50 hr. weekend $3.00 hr. All new hires
must successfully complete the facility’s pre-service training
program for Direct Support Professional Staff, to include Person
Centered Approach techniques, CPR/First Aid Certification, TOVA,
medication administration, nutritional management and
physical/behavioral management, for continued employment.
(Preservice training class is 10 days long 8:00 am to 4:30 pm).

this posting. Skills and experience required: We are looking for
candidates who are passionate about helping others and making a
positive impact on their lives. We also seek the following: Must
have active, valid driver’s license. Prior experience managing or
leading a shift. Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be dependable,
accountable, and reliable. Must have ability to work a flexible
schedule. Mush have ability to work with an integrated team. Bonus
points if you have: Prior experience with medication
administration. Prior experience working with individuals with
intellectual disabilities, autism, and other disabilities. Prior
experience working with medically fragile individuals. Prior
experience as a Direct Support Professional, a Certified Nursing
Assistant, or similar role. Demonstrated experience working with
