The railway is a path to the future, choose this path and apply today.Job DescriptionThe Continuous Improvement Trainer is responsible for leading and driving a consistent message about Plasser American processes with an emphasis on creating and maintaining a safe working environment and maintaining and exceeding customer quality requirements. The Trainer will be expected to train, coach, and develop new and existing team members, improve skill-sets, identify best practices and optimize the use of lean manufacturing and individual development tools in order to meet safety, quality, and production needs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach Lean Manufacturing Techniques
  • Lead Kaizens
  • Train operators on SOP's and JSA's
  • Conduct one-on-ones to discuss new hires training progress.
  • Communicate to management progress of training of each manufacturing employee
  • Assist in the development of training documents and SOP's
  • Schedule, coordinate and evaluate training activities
  • Coordinate with Managers, Supervisors, and Human Resources in order to assess training needs
  • Audit processes to ensure compliance
  • Maintain training records then forward them to Human Resources.
  • Train employees to assemble product as per instructions with a focus on quality and safety
  • Train employees to communicate efficiently with other employees and the leadership team in order to ensure quality product is made timely
  • Teach new and existing employees to read, understand, and follow production processes
  • Lead New Hire Orientation
  • Develop and teach Leadership training for supervisors Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Administration or related field Qualifications:
      • Minimum of 3yrs experience in a training, mentoring, or leadership role
      • Minimum of 3yrs experience in Lean Manufacturing
      • Minimum of 2yrs experience leading Kaizens
      • Strong facilitation skills
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills
      • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to give direction and lead others
      • Ability to use Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
      • Proficient at reading/interpreting drawings, quality specs, shop orders
      • Good attendance and the ability to work flexible shifts and overtime as required
