SLAIT Consulting is currently seeking a Systems Analyst Sr. Advisor for a client in the Virginia Beach, VA area.

CLIENT COMMENTS: Additional requirements: • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage many competing demands in a fast-paced environment • Solid understanding of web-based, multi-tiered environments; demonstrated ability to efficiently trouble-shoot and route issues to appropriate team for resolution • Strong knowledge of relational database design principles in support of user interface, systems interfaces, or other data management, query and extraction methodologies; should be very comfortable formulating and utilizing complex queries in a variety of database environments • Experience with all phases of the SDLC, particularly requirements gathering, analysis and testing

SUMMARY:

Responsible for defining and managing the scope of Business Systems project(s).

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Defines functional, usability, reliability, performance and support requirements of a system. Creates and performs feature testing and determines environmental needs. Provides the link between the technical and business views of the system by ensuring that the technical solutions being developed will satisfy the needs of the business. Partners with business, architecture and infrastructure and oversees all service levels to ensure business area satisfaction. In depth knowledge of tools utilized . Defines detail design components with high level architecture blueprints. Coordinates integration activities to ensure successful implementation. Ensures effective monitoring of systems. Defines development strategy, standards and support tools. Proactively works with stakeholders to identify future system opportunities and enhancements.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Requires BA/BS in computer science or information systems; 8 or more years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required. Excellent multitasking, leadership and managerial skills required. Knowledge of a variety of technologies and/or the ability to understand technology dependencies and manage technology integration required. Experience with MS Office tools and Rational Tool suite required. Knowledge or training of process improvement and process control competencies, such as Lean or Six Sigma.
