Job Description Job Description Job Title: Warehouse Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Technician to join our team. This role involves handling the shipping, receiving, and storage of materials in accordance with company and regulatory standards, while ensuring safety and efficiency in all operations. Responsibilities Ship, receive, and store materials in compliance with company and regulatory standards, including hazardous materials handling. Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper labeling, stacking, and temperature-controlled storage. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and order throughout the warehouse and surrounding areas. Follow all safety procedures, including those outlined in the Emergency Response Plan and OSHA regulations. Package materials according to specifications, including size, labeling, and storage requirements. Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and vendors in person and via phone. Participate in training programs to stay current on safety and operational procedures. Perform physical tasks such as lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing ladders, and working in varied environmental conditions (e.g., walk-in freezers, outdoors). Assist with building and landscape maintenance, including snow removal and yard work as needed. Essential Skills Certification in forklift operation and experience with pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment. Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations, including DOT and IATA standards. Familiarity with hazardous materials handling, labeling, and storage. Ability to read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and follow packaging specifications. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic math skills for inventory and packaging tasks. Manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform warehouse duties safely and effectively. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in Microsoft Office for inventory management and reporting. Work Environment Work is primarily performed in a warehouse setting with exposure to seasonal temperatures, noise, dust, and chemicals. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The role demands physical activities such as lifting, bending, climbing, and extended periods of standing or walking. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chesterfield, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
