Job ID #: 19833 Location: VA-CHESAPEAKE Functional Area: Misc./Trades Position Type: Full Time Experience Required: 1 - 3 Years Relocation Provided: No Education Required: High School Diploma RC/Department: 6420 -MIDATL ELIZABETH RIVER TERM :BTLC5 Position Description PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for the safe, efficient and quality conscious unloading and loading of bulk and packaged commodities to or from marine vessels, railcars and trucks. Assure the work being performed consistently meets or exceeds the expectations of the supervisor, as well as published policies and procedures ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Position assigned specific duties of moving products and warehousing under periodic supervision - The Terminal Operator may be assigned to general duties in all areas of operations of the terminal - Extensive training in railcar, truck, warehousing, vessel operations, safety and environmental training as required - Operate dozers, front end loaders and heavy equipment as required, including track mobiles, dump tracks and excavators - Perform operations on docks and on vessels - Perform daily routine preventative maintenance on equipment - Perform housekeeping and general maintenance - Upkeep of assigned equipment or toolsPerform any other type of terminal functions as trained and instructed by supervision Position Requirements EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE / SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE: 1 -3 years experience in a similar environment CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC clearance COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Must meet and maintain certification for use of respiratory protective equipment as required by OSHA 1910.134 - Must demonstrate aptitude to execute customer orders and maintain necessary records Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details and follow work rules PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to frequently lfit up to 50 pounds (high physical demand level) WORKING CONDITIONS: - Required to work in all types of weather conditions Must be available to work all shifts and weekends, including 12 hour shifts We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
