Field Service EngineerProvide field service technical direction in support of US Navy aircraft carrier, submarine, and other support vessels. Technical direction primarily associated with the shipboard installation and overhaul of Curtiss Wright product such as steam turbines, pumps, trip throttle valves, and electrical generators. Standard responsibilities include providing engineering oversight to key clients throughout the disassembly, inspection, complex report writing, repairs, reassembly, and testing of related equipment. Typical work environment is industrial in nature where odd hours and weekend work is not uncommon.Location: Chesapeake, VAThe Challenge:+ Experience in heavy rotating oil lubricated machinery + Meticulous attention to detail + Perform maintenance and overhaul activity on complex rotating machinery + Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret assembly and machining drawings + Knowledge and experience using tooling, machining, and measurement devices + Candidate must be able to technically troubleshoot complex rotating machinery + Ability to communicate to all internal and external customers professionally + Candidate must have basic computer skills with the ability to navigate and generate complex Word and Excel reports + Candidate must be able to support overtime and weekends as necessaryYour Expertise:+ Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and/or 5-10 years experience in the related field + Must be US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance + Prior experience with maintenance overhaul activity on complex rotating machinery, preferably steam turbine experience. + Experience with writing complex reports + Demonstrated experience working with computersTravel:Willing and able to travel up to 3 weeks at a time, up to 25% yearly outside of the region This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
