General Summary:

The Inventory Manager is responsible for leading a team of Replenishment professionals that manages DC inventory to the optimum Service Levels and Turn for assigned Line of Business while delivering store level In-Stock goals. Replenishment Managers are responsible for managing the purchasing and deployment of promotional replenished SKUs. This includes determining quantities needed by SKU to support each event, "weeks of supply rule" implementation and post mortem analysis. They are accountable for ideal inventory levels of promoted replenished SKUs. This individual works cross functionally with Merchandising, Planning and Marketing to improve overall promotional performance. This role is responsible for the active development and coaching of Team Members to enhance their careers and best support the category teams.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide feedback to Inventory Managers for new and seasoned Replenishment Buyers on strengths and areas of opportunity in relation to performance and growth opportunities; monitor and audit the work of direct reports

Responsible for continuous enhancements to improve Replenishment execution and increase Store In-Stock and inventory productivity as new opportunities/strategies are implemented

Present and train all affected internal and/or external teams on new processes and tools as required

Ensure the team maintains appropriate DC and store inventory levels within assigned areas of responsibility

Spearhead analysis and reporting for the Department to address opportunities such as: inventory inefficiencies; out of stock investigation; incorrect forecasting; improper system settings. Provide recommendations to Replenishment Buyers,Replenishment Managers, and Inter-Departmental teams as applicable

Guide Replenishment Buyers through the processes for introduction of new items and the discontinuation of obsolete items as needed and ensure timelines are followed

Process and execute the Replenishment Promo Tool to support over $300M in promo sales and approximately 9,000 SKU/Week combinations annually

Analyze Replenishment Promo Tool output, including, but not limited to promotional lift, weeks of supply rule and buy quantities to support promotional events, non-replenished store support and excess inventory analysis

Serve as final authority of all buy quantities to support FD promo events, and convey quantities to the Replenishment team

Conduct post analysis research from Promo In-Stock Performance report and communicate opportunities and action plans to Replenishment Leadership team

Process and execute Lot Control reporting to identify company freshness issues with basic product through DC and Store level data

Manage all Lot Control risk items and ensure the Replenishment team is taking corrective action for DC and Store level risk

Act as Lot Control liaison between Merchandising, Planning, Replenishment and DC partners to implement strategies to improve freshness issues

Communicate all inventory flow for Tar Heel Trading of Forecasted purchase orders, using ladder plans and other tools, for financial planning internally as well as production planning for global suppliers

Identify, develop, and recommend efficiencies in our global supply chain, using existing import tools in collaboration with cross-functional teams

Extract and analyze exception reporting for ladder plans and other tools, and help to creatively develop new methods to ensure the team maintains proper product flow, and addresses future service issues related to domestic or globally sourced product

Analyze Store and Distribution Center Seasonality profiles to ensure seasonal accuracy andexecution of optimal inventory levels

Develop, train,and provide ongoing coaching to Team Members

Lead major, cross-functional projects

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent work experience. MBA preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of Replenishment experience. Meets and exceeds all expectations for the Replenishment Buyer position. Management experience preferred.

Job Related Skills: Considered to be an expert in Replenishment and project management. Must be results driven, adaptable, detail oriented and organized. Ability to make sound decisions with limited Managerial direction, takes accountability for decisions, actions and results. Must exhibit strong problem solving/decision making and managerial skills. Demonstrate the ability to analyze data, identify root causes, trends, opportunities and concerns. Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as relationship management.
