The Marine Services Operation (MSO) is seeking a Production Planner Managerto develop complete technical proposals as a part of an overarching submission utilizing documents from technical work packages that include; labor/manpower, material, subcontractors, outside services, travel and other direct charges. The position will lead a planning staff and function as a Direct Report to the Marine Services Operations Manager working out of our Chesapeake facility. #LI-MJ1What you will do Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.Develop documentation for shipboard/industrial production projects utilizing technical work packages, labor/manpower (hours and industrial trades), material estimates, subcontractors & outside services, travel and/or other direct chargesAdvises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.Supervise direct reports and assign duties.What we are looking forMust have 4 years' relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years' relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8years' relevant progressive experience.Must have experience developing documentation for shipboard/industrial production projects utilizing technical work packages, labor/manpower (hours and industrial trades), material estimates, subcontractors & outside services, travel and/or other direct charges.Must have experience developing technical proposals (from established templates) and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) to support technical work packages as part of an overarching submission.Must have knowledge of U.S. Navy Ship Information Drawings (SIDs), Ship Change Documents (SCDs), and Statements of Work (SOWs)Must be proficient reading and analyzing technical specifications, blueprints, drawings, sketches or technical manual/documentation equivalents.Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Project as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Must have to ability to obtain a DoD secret level clearance and maintain it throughout employment.Preferred: Bonus points for...Practical knowledge of shipboard mechanical, structural, electrical and/or piping systems preferred.Robust general administrative abilities and skill set a plus.Past experience supervising planning and estimating staff a plus. Physical RequirementsMay be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment.
