Coordinates appropriate room assignments and carries out processes
related to bed placement for all bed requests from all areas
including ED, OR/PACU, unit transfers, direct admits from local
physician offices and regional transfers. Prioritizes patient
movement based on highest census areas in collaboration with the
Patient Placement Facilitator and responds to dynamic patient-flow
situations. Anticipates future bed needs and bed availability by
monitoring requesting area volume, the ED tracking board, OR/PACU
surgical requests, regional referrals and outpatient services.
Communicates with nursing/operational leadership and escalates
situations affecting patient movements to Patient Placement
Facilitator as necessary. Prioritizes jobs for EVS and Transport
Services to ensure bed movements progresses successfully.
High School or equivalent is required.
1 year to 3 years in a hospital setting
This is a full-time, 36 hours a week, position.
