Overview:
The Senior Night Auditor meets guest expectations professionally and efficiently by performing all duties of a Night Auditor and by providing leadership and guidance to the Night Auditors at the Desk. The Night Auditor is responsible for the accurate accounting of all transactions completed during the day and the verification that proper cash handling procedures were followed. Depending upon the size of the property, the Night Auditor may also perform the duties of a Guest Service Agent and MOD.

Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and guidance to the Night Auditors through formal training activities and during more informal interactions during the Night Audit Shift.Serve as the senior member of the Night Audit Staff during Night Audit shifts. Assist Night Auditors with new and/or complicated transactions and incorporate training into these activities. Show a positive example of gracious, welcoming, and professional behavior to all members of the hotel staff and to hotel guests.Demonstrate and reinforce proper procedures as part of the Night Audit Staff. Assist with additional duties as assigned by the Front Office Supervisor, Front Office Manager, and General Manager.May also serve as the Senior GSA when scheduled on a Front Desk Shift. Perform all duties of a Night Auditor as listed below: Hire staff to ensure that all areas of responsibility are properly covered and within budget. Conduct orientation training of new associates to explain company policies. Assign all associates their duties, and inspect work for conformance to prescribed company/franchise standards of cleanliness. Prepare all schedules for the department and forwards same to senior management for approval Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies Investigate complaints and takes corrective action. Prepare any reports concerning room occupancy, payroll expenses, and department expenses. Record data concerning work assignments and special projects and prepare periodic reports. Greet and interact with the guest in a friendly and professional manner creating the "WOW" experience. Possess full knowledge of all matters relating to proper techniques as established by hotel/franchise requirements. Interact with fellow associates in a courteous and professional manner. Ensure that all guest requests you receive are satisfied in a timely and efficient manner. Provides service in a highly professional manner at all times. Conduct daily pre-shift meeting Complete associate safety training in compliance with PHR/franchise procedures, OSHA regulations and Night Auditor. Review internal management reports to include: occupancy forecasts, night audit summary, payroll edits, man-hour and payroll reports, productivity results from the prior day, operating checkbook accounts and schedules Generate all department PO's (purchase orders) and PAF's/ROD's (personnel action form/Records of Discussion) and forwards same to senior management for approval. Attend weekly staff meeting. Check periodically each day on any and all special project work. Participate with formation of department annual operating budgets. Ensure that the resort maintains all QA standards as defined by any third party affiliations (Interval International or hotel franchiser) where applicable. Perform month end inventories in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure that all department employees receive comprehensive training as specified by the Operating Plan and Business Plan. Enforce 100% staff compliance with uniform and grooming standards. Report unsafe work conditions/practices and safety/security violations in accordance with Company policy. Other duties as assigned. Meets with Front Office staff to received pertinent information regarding the daily activities and yield management strategies. Perform, as necessary, the functions of the front desk with regard to check-in, check-out and customer service. Greet & interact with the guest in a friendly but professional manner creating the "WOW" experience. Ensure that all guest requests you receive are satisfied in a timely & efficient manner. Review internal management reports to include: occupancy forecasts, night audit summary, house account backup, reconciliation & productivity results from the prior day. Print the required reports and reconcile the daily departmental activities in preparation for the close of business process. Able to apply mathematical concepts including fractions, percentages, ratios & proportions to practical situations. Post room and tax and perform the necessary Property Management System functions to close the business day. Complete the necessary closeout reports Balance and transmit the daily credit card transactions. Ensure the Zip Out check-out folios are printed and delivered to guests rooms Ensure payment is obtained for all guest rooms and that credit card approvals are current. Reconcile the Property Management Sytem to the Credit Card Processing System.Reconcile phone revenue with the call accounting system. Retreive the Hotel Call Around from PBX and forward the final format via e.mail to the appropriate individuals. Prepare the necessary reports for the beginning of the day for Housekeeping. Compete the hotel Income Journal Complete the Night Audit Input for the PHR Pop-Up Submit the daily credit card batch. Complete the Night Audit Checklist. Perform cash balancing and complete the nightly cash drop. Complete the F&B Income Journal

Qualifications:
Experience--- 12 months of service as a Night Auditor, PBX Agent, or GSA (or comparable experience as certified by the GM/RM) --- Completion of sections 1-5, 7 and 10 (where applicable) of the GSA Job Skills Certification Checklist --- Approval by the GM/RM and the FOM --- Associate must be in good standingSkill--- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. --- Prior experience as a property level Night Auditor preferred --- Exposure to scheduling, PO processing, time card calculations and expense control systems preferred --- Degree in related area or equivalent of 3 years of experience in the field. --- Demonstrated computer skills. --- Ability to interact with hotel/resort guests and staff in a courteous and professional manner. --- Ability to multi-task within specific time constraints. --- Good attitude and work ethic practices. --- Demonstrated ability and willingness to give direction. --- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. --- Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. --- Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. --- Willingness to receive development and supervisory training. --- Team building and motivational skills --- Computer knowledgeable/proficient with Microsoft Word & Excel including formula building
