Overview Job specifications are intended to present a
descriptive list of the range of duties performed by

performed within the jobSUMMARY: Dispatch/Alarm Monitors are
responsible for performing their duties in a professional,
courteous, and timely mannerThey may be responsible for issuance
and storage of keys; alarm and fire system monitoring; coordinating
response to incidents, accidents, injuries, and/or illnesses; and
other additional duties as required by
supervision/managementApplicants selected will be subject to a
background/security investigation and must be drug free and remain
drug free during period of employmentThis position reports directly
to their assigned Shift Supervisor ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:--- Provide alarm and CCTV monitoring, internal,
tactical communications with security personnel, and external
notifications to local emergency first responders.
* Operate communication equipment to receive incoming calls for
assistance.
* Dispatch personnel and equipment to a scene of emergency.
* Operates telephone console to receive incoming calls for
assistance.
* Questions caller(s) to determine the nature of the problem and
type and number of personnel and equipment needed, following
established guidelines.
* Scans status charts and computer screen to determine units
available.
* Monitors alarm system signals that indicate location of fire or
emergency.
* Operates two-way radio to dispatch police, fire, medical, and
other personnel and equipment and to relay instructions or
information to remove units.
* Types commands on computer keyboard to update files and maintain
logs.
* Maintains, updates Blotter, updates files and maintain logs,
tests communications and alarm equipment, and backup systems to
ensure serviceability.
* Tests communications and alarm equipment and backup systems to

* May provide pre-arrival instructions to caller, utilizing
knowledge of emergency medical techniques.
* May activate alarm system to notify fire stationsNON-ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:--- Other duties as
assignedREQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION:--- Possess a high
school diploma or equivalent.
* Possess the knowledge and ability to perform all required guard
services dutiesExperience:--- Possess experience in Emergency
Dispatch as well all required state certification(s)
operationsRequirements:--- Must be able to read, write, and speak
English fluently.
* Have no felony convictions and no convictions that reflect on the
individual's reliability including those crimes classified under
the Lautenberg Act.
* Must be 21 years of age to be armed.
* Be a citizen of the United States.
* Possess a valid state driver's license (all positions herein may
require the use of a motor vehicle).
* Possess any/all required State Security Guard
licenses/permits.
* Obtain/Maintain Government approval.
* Must have no record or history of illegal drug use, sale,
possession, or manufacture during the previous five yearsDrug
testing and screening may be conducted prior to hiring an
employee.
* Annual drug testing may be conductedSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND
ABILITIES:--- Ability to work independently and in a team
environment.
* Ability to accept and respond to new emergent and unique project
task requirements.
* Ability to present ideas clearly and succinctly both in writing
and verbally to co-workers, team members, internal department
groups and personnel as well as outside entities to include other
departmentsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described

* Shall be free from any communicable disease.
* Shall possess binocular vision, correctable to 20/20 (Snellen)

without benefit of artificial hearing devicesWORK ENVIRONMENT:---
Work is typically performed in both an uncontrolled and controlled
environment; as such, while performing the duties of this job, the
employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the
time.
* The noise level in the work environment is usually
moderateADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS: Must have the ability to
obtain and maintain a security clearanceIn addition, a satisfactory
background screening, negative drug test, positive references and
proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United
