DescriptionPosition Accountabilities
- Business Application Software Selection and Assessments -
Identify and evaluate a variety of banking/financial services
technology application solutions for the organization based on
business strategies, requirements, use cases and desired business
outcomes. Lead and Document formal solution evaluations including
considerations related to business benefits, ongoing cost,
operational impacts, potential information security or compliance
risks, platform & data architectures and overall strategic
alignment
- Application Software Solution Design and Implementation -
Provide in-depth technical consultation to business partners and
technology teams to ensure solutions are efficient and effective,
and support established standards and methodologies. Evaluate
project scope and approach to ensure solution will be effectively
implemented and achieve stated goals.
- Integration and Interoperability - Provide architectural design
input and direction on how critical business applications will be
integrated. Evaluate options and recommend the best approach based
on business need, standards, best practices and cost
effectiveness
- Strategic Systems Planning - Evaluate new solutions against
existing application inventory. Make recommendations which
platforms to expand, hold static, decommission. Assess existing
solutions to ensure capabilities are being fully leveraged and
value is maximized. Identify underutilized or duplicative solutions
within the enterprise and recommend ways to consolidate solutions
to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency
- Develop Architecture Knowledgebase - Develop and maintain
comprehensive solution, system, and data flow artifacts. Create and
share solution design templates and guide teammates on best
practices for developing effective design and development
artifacts
- Architecture and Design Consulting - Operate as an internal
consultant in leading design sessions with both business and
technology teammates. Focus is on the best way to achieve business
goals while also considering future functionality, flexibility,
scalability and cost effectiveness.
- Enterprise Perspective and Vision - Assist with the evolution
and maturation of the enterprise technology architecture program,
establishment and continuous improvement of standards, and
facilitate communication of best practices amongst technology
teams.
- Industry and Marketplace Knowledge - Engage vendors and
third-parties when necessary to analyze design options, enhance
existing solutions, and ensure contracted work is consistent, on
time and meets standards/expectations. Continually research
capabilities of current and new disruptive solutions on the market
and make recommendations to leadership.
Organizational Relationship
This position reports to the Chief Data Officer/Head of Enterprise
Architecture.
Position Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer/technology or related field is
preferred
- At least 10 years of Information Technology experience, with
direct experience implementing complex software applications and
system integrations or ecosystems
- 7+ years in a structured IT organization using a variety of
methodologies, and strong technical environment management
disciplines
- Mastery / certification in one or more standard architecture
frameworks or technologies
- Proven ability to influence both business and technology
professionals to achieve common goals.
- Experience in and knowledge of Banking and/or Financial
Services industry is preferred.
- Consulting experience is also desired
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of software applications, development, data
integration and technology strategic planning.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software development lifecycle and
implementation projects in an Agile environment
- Ability to organize and coordinate cross-functional technical
and business teams
- Strong communication and documentation skills with an attention
to detail
- Creative thinking, problem solving and flexible adoption of
new/different ideas
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not
limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This
position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable
incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary
