This position will be located in Suffolk, VA. The Forces Planner / Instructor Controller conducts research and analysis of friendly and adversarialnaval capabilities and serves as the functional expert for the conceptualization, development and credible replication of friendly and opposing force (OPFOR)naval units, platforms, systems, weapons, munitions and tactics in computer-assisted joint and combined military exercises and mission rehearsals.This planner produces OPFOR Campaign Plans and Campaign Overview Briefs in support of joint training events. The Forces Planner / Instructor Controller also operates models and simulations (M&S) to replicate friendly and OPFORforces during military training exercises and systems tests. A qualified candidate must understand the use of tactics, techniques, and procedures and how to controlnaval forces in M&S. Current simulations include the Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM), Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS), Joint Semi Automated Forces (JSAF), Joint Theater Level Simulation (JTLS), and JCATS Low Overhead Driver (JLOD). The planner develops M&S Systems Plans, trains M&S operators, and provides initial and refresher training on current M&S systems used for Joint Staff exercises. Basic Qualifications: * B.S. or B.A. degree. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. * Minimum of five (5) years' naval experience as a commissioned officer, non-commissioned officer, or DOD civilian equivalent. * Ability toobtain a US passport. * An activecurrent Secret clearance and theability to obtain/maintain a TS Clearance. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in operating military simulations. * Current Top Secret clearance w/SCI eligibility. Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
