Hydraulic Technician Test and Calibration

Plasser American Corporation, one of the leading manufactures of
railroad track maintenance equipment in North America, is currently
seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Hydraulic
technician in the Test and Calibration department. This position
requires a working knowledge of hydraulic pumps, motors,
proportional and direct operated valves, servo's, cylinders and
relief valves. The hydraulic technician must also have the ability
to set up and adjust the different components within a fluid power
system. This position will function primarily on the regular shift,
Monday through Friday, although occasional weekend work and
overtime may be required based on production needs. Position
Details Ensure the fluid power system is assembled in compliance
with detailed schematics using shop and industry best practices.
Prepare the fluid power system for operation. Perform operational
testing and component adjustments. Troubleshoot problems as needed.
Machine calibration. Document settings and any Non-Conformance
items according to company standards. Basic requirements: Three
years' experience in the fluid power field. Experienced with the
use of test equipment such as pressure gauges and flow meters.
Ability to troubleshoot/identify root causes and systematically
solve problems. Knowledge of different sealing methods for various
types of fittings. Experience with electrical testing and
troubleshooting of 12 and 24 volt DC systems. Ability to read and
interpret schematics. Capable of working in a team environment.
Must have basic computer skills (email, internet, MS office).
Ability to communicate, apply, understand and carry out written or
verbal instructions. Identifying opportunities for process and
machine improvements. Preferred Skills: Rexroth and Sauer/Danfoss
pump, motor and valve experience. Knowledge of pneumatics. Good
mechanical skills. Familiar with PLC systems. Knowledge of track
maintenance machinery is a plus. Good mathematical skills.

satisfactory job performance) Education: Minimum of a High School
diploma or General Education Degree (GED), Trade School,
certificates or military A schools in the field of fluid power.
Knowledge: Incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the
following areas: Knowledge of mechanics. Knowledge in the field of
industrial hydraulics/pneumatics. Knowledge in the use of
electronic test equipment. Knowledge in the reading, and
interpretation, of hydraulic schematic drawings and engineering
blueprints. Skills: Incumbent must demonstrate or participate in
internal/external training programs to obtain the following skills:
Ability to troubleshoot/identify root cause, and systematically
solve problems. Capable of working in a team environment. Ability
to plan activities. Knowledge of basic IT skills and MS Office
Application. Ability to read, and write, reports and procedures in
various formats. Ability to read, and interpret, electrical
schematic drawings and engineering blueprints. Ability to interpret
a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or
schedule form. Ability to apply critical thinking and solve
practical problems in a variety of situations. Ability to
effectively present information and respond to questions from
groups of managers, customers, and quality auditors. Ability to
compute angles, slope, degrees, using basic geometry and
trigonometry. Good mathematical skills: addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division. Understanding of the metric system.
Ability to use electronic test equipment. Ability to work under
