Description: Harbor's Edge is a premier resort-style Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located on the harbor in Norfolk, Virginia. Harbor's Edge has a $225 million expansion underway, the River Tower, that includes an additional 24-story tower, doubling the square footage and adding 147 residential living units and 20 assisted living units. When complete, Harbor's Edge will have 300 residential units in addition to a 33 bed (Medicare/Private Pay) Skilled Nursing unit and 80 Assisted Living/Memory Care units. The Community will employ approximately 300 employees.Harbor's Edge is seeking an experienced full-time Floor Technician. The ideal candidate has at least one year of related experience and a working knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment and safety and infection control policies. A positive and pleasant demeanor and a "can do" attitude are essential to success in this role.Responsibilities

• Cleans and services floors and carpets throughout the facility on a daily basis, to include: sweeping, dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting
• Removes trash and other debris inside the facility and around the facility grounds
• Cleans and prepares vacant rooms for occupancy
• Maintains equipment and supplies and promptly reports malfunctions and discrepancies to the Housekeeping Director
• Maintains utility rooms in a clean and orderly fashion
• Follows all housekeeping protocols and safety procedures
• Participates in staff meetings, facility functions, and special events
• Assists with other housekeeping functions as assigned and/or required
• Maintains a respectful and courteous demeanor with all residents, guests, visitors, and co-workers Requirements: Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma/GED at a minimum
  • Floor care skills and experience desired
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a skilled nursing care facility or other related medical facility
  • Able to follow spoken and written instructions
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather events
  • Able to exert 50 pounds of force
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Able to meet objectives with a minimum of supervision
