What You ll Do

• Collaborate with other pediatric providers to evaluate patients and determine whether surgical care is necessary
• Provide preoperative, operative, and postoperative management for pediatric patients
• Coordinate with the on-site clinical team, including daytime support for triaging calls and medication refill requests
• Respond to after-hours calls, with many calls originating from the Pediatric Emergency Department
• Perform weekend surgical consults as needed and provide rounding for patients the locum provider has admitted
• Manage consult response times for emergencies (per assignment expectations)
• Support continuity of care for a low daily consult volume per provider

What You Need
Required

• Board Certified pediatric surgeon
• Ability to provide surgical care across the pediatric age range (newborns through teenage years)
• Experience managing pediatric pre-op, operative, and post-op care
• Strong clinical judgment for ED-based pediatric surgical consults
